Chateau Apogee in Lalande Pomerol has a fruity nose and offers a fine intensity. It reveals notes of fleshy and juicy blackberries, fleshy and juicy blackcurrants and small notes of raspberries, combined with subtle hints of juicy strawberries, combined with subtle hints of bourbon vanilla and licorice, sweet blonde tobacco and very subtle hints of sweet spices. The palate is fresh, fruity, balanced, precise and offers juiciness, good tension definition, straightness, a finely dense structure and concentration. The tannins are well developed. Presence of hints of vanilla and caramelized almonds in the aftertaste. It has a very intense purple color. Its nose is very refined with lots of ripe fruit, light freshness and tobacco notes. On the palate, this vintage lives up to its name as it is truly at the peak of concentration of ripe, crunchy and energetic fruit, which intensifies upon inhaling a breath of air. Nice tannins too, the structure is there but very fine. In the finish the fruit continues in the same delicious and pleasant way.
