The cult winemaker from Tain l'Hermitage, who ‘seems to be constantly bubbling over with ideas and yet never says a word too many’, is already considered one of the most important wine visionaries of our time. Michel Chapoutier was just 25 years old when he took over the winery founded in 1808 from his father and consistently converted it to biodynamic cultivation. Michel Chapoutier believes that great wines are made in the vineyard, not in the cellar. His wines should reflect the terroir in a distinctive way and also be excellent accompaniments to food. The winery owns parcels in the top appellations of the southern and northern Rhône, such as Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Hermitage.
