Geldermann Wine
Generational change on 1 January
2025
Déborah Ruffing Tabbone becomes
La Chef de Cave
Change of management at the
Geldermann cellar in Breisach:
Déborah Ruffing Tabbone, state-
certified oenologist and Master of
Wine & Champagne, will officially
succeed Marc Gauchey as cellar
master on 1 January 2025. She has
been working for the private
sparkling wine cellar since March
2024 and, together with Gauchey,
dived deep into the Geldermann
world. In addition to the careful
selection of the base wines, this
also included the composition of the
cuvées with their unmistakable
style.
"Even on my first day, I was thrilled
by the very special atmosphere
here. Especially down in the
maturing cellar, you can literally
feel the history, the tradition and
the soul of Geldermann," enthuses
Déborah Ruffing Tabbone. Their
declared goal is to continue the
continuity in terms of taste,
character and premium standards,
but also to develop them further.
Since 1991, Marc Gauchey has
shown his flair for unique taste
compositions as Chef de Cave.
René James Lallier, the last
descendant of the founding Deutz
family, personally hired the Alsatian
at the time. Now he passed on
more than 30 years of experience
to his successor, initiating her into
the secrets of the typical
Geldermann character and taste. |
